OC and
Open Source E-Learning
So what is open source software?
and why is it different from proprietary software?
This type of freedom is actually important not only at the contractual level because the GNU GPL license protects free software. So if I make a modification to that software it must also be freely available accessible to everyone and everyone could modify that software and improve it.
OC deals with E-Learning
and therefore we could only choose, recommend and appreciate ILIAS LMS:
a software for managing online training that is also open source, therefore with free code.
Choose ILIAS LMS
it means making an investment, a collaborative choice because I don't rely on a company that will have to give me exactly what I ask for with a snap of the fingers, but rather it is an approach to improving the software and all users of the software will make their own contribution. To date, ILIAS is a complete, reliable software that can be integrated with all other software on the market.
It has many features also requested by customers and companies that use it precisely from an Open Source perspective, therefore from a collaborative perspective. ILIAS is certainly a very structured choice.
There are also other LMS software such as.
Moodle LMS, also Open Source
MOODLE, on the other hand, is more suitable for the academic field: with fewer company-related functions but certainly simple to use on the one hand, and easy to understand on the other, so teachers can approach learning in a simpler way.
WORD PRESS + PLUGIN
and other solutions, let's say more "easy" such as a combination of WordPress which is an open source site building software, combined with training plugs such as LEARNDASH.
In this case we move more towards a website-style graphic aspect, therefore with less functionality but with that intuitiveness, responsiveness and all the themes related to training but moved to a website perspective.
