On May 6th at 11:00 a.m., on the Main Stage in Hall 2, Ilario Truppa will give a twenty-minute talk entitled “European Digital Sovereignty and Knowledge Governance: An Integrated LCMS Approach through Open Source.” This talk will explore how a European open source LMS can move from being a container of courses to becoming an organization’s strategic infrastructure.

Most organizations don’t. Not for lack of skills — but because ILIAS is still treated as a training tool, when it is much more. Over the past two years, we have built three concrete answers to this question.
ILIAS as an institutional CMS. We have developed a proprietary SEO plugin that turns ILIAS into a search engine-indexed website. The same platform that trains people can communicate externally, with authoritative content built on real knowledge of the organization. AI for content production, inside ILIAS. We have developed a plugin that brings AI content generation directly into the platform. Existing videos, documents, and presentations become structured e-learning modules—with glossary, quizzes, and learning objectives—without leaving ILIAS or starting from scratch.
Certified and sovereign cloud infrastructure. From January 2026, we offer ILIAS on AWS European Sovereign Cloud: independent, under European law, with data residency entirely in Europe and GDPR and NIS2 compliance. Our senior developer is AWS certified. For those managing training data, HR profiles, and internal certifications, this solves the problem that until now forced them to choose between performance and digital sovereignty.
